The Southwest Finland Strategy 2040+ has been approved, and the strategy outlines the priorities we want to work on together in the region in the coming years. We are strengthening Southwest Finland’s role as a connector: our grand vision is to anchor all of Finland to the west. The implementation plan currently being prepared for the strategy describes the steps required on this journey.
It is time to highlight not only the issues and actions but also the actors: those Southwest Finland organizations that commit to the strategy’s vision and objectives and consciously promote their realization. We now invite you to join a public declaration in which regional actors visibly commit to shared objectives and describe their role in advancing them.
Joining the public declaration is easy. Organizations prepare approximately three free-form sentences describing which objectives of the Southwest Finland Strategy 2040+ are central to the organization and how the organization promotes their realization. The public declaration must be reviewed and approved at the organization’s management level.
The deadline for joining is Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

The implementation plan and public declarations will be presented at the launch event for the new strategy period on April 29. After that, we will communicate our commitment together to stakeholders. Public joint commitment strengthens the visibility of Southwest Finland’s network of actors regionally, nationally, and internationally.
