This is the accessibility statement of the Regional Council of Southwest Finland
This accessibility statement concerns the service https://www.varsinais-suomi.fi and was updated on 26 September 2024. The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires public online services to be accessible.

The accessibility of the service has been assessed from the outset during the implementation of the new website by the website provider, and additionally in terms of content partly by an expert body and partly by ourselves.

Non-accessible content
Our website has been built from the ground up together with a web developer who is committed to taking accessibility requirements into account at every stage of the project, so the majority of the content is accessible. When producing new content, we take accessibility requirements into account to the best of our ability. Our staff has been trained in accessibility matters, but there are many content producers and content is often produced under time pressure, so mistakes may occasionally occur despite our best efforts.

In some situations, we may also need to publish material that does not meet all accessibility requirements. These may include certain older PDF, DOC, PPT documents, or maps that are not intended for navigation purposes. The accessibility of the file names of these documents may also occasionally present problems. However, we review the files and aim to correct their file names to an accessible format at the same time.

We strive to provide personal service to customers when necessary in situations where material does not meet accessibility requirements, in order to provide the information in an accessible format.

Supervisory authority
If you notice accessibility issues on the site, please first provide feedback to us, the site administrator. A response may take 14 days. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive or do not receive a response at all within two weeks, you can file a report with the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southern Finland.
