Association Program Model for Municipalities

A functioning civil society is part of a municipality’s vitality. This association program model supports municipalities in preparing and collaborating with organizations and associations operating in their area. The association program model has been compiled by the organization section of the Varsinais-Suomi Regional Cooperation Group.

The model provides a six-step pathway to support municipal collaboration with organizations:

• Designate contact persons
• Ensure visibility of organizations operating in the municipality
• Convene organizations regularly
• Utilize the expertise of associations and organizations
• Establish partnership agreements with organizations
• Build a sustainable future together
