The Organizations Section of the Varsinais-Suomi Regional Cooperation Group has developed a self-assessment tool for organizations that guides them in examining the quality and adaptability of their own activities. The tool focuses on three essential areas of organizational work:

  • organizational quality,
  • commitment to activities, and
  • adaptation and response to changes in the operating environment.

After completing the survey, you will gain an understanding of which areas in your organization are in good shape and which areas would be important to focus on developing in the future. Following this brief survey-supported assessment, you can focus on the identified areas at your own pace and according to your own needs, using the more detailed questions in the actual self-assessment tool.

Continue Working on Development Themes

The self-assessment survey will tell you which aspects of your organization or association require development work. The Organizations Section’s background material will then help you delve deeper into the topics using a set of questions. The content can be examined from different perspectives depending on the organization’s structure or development needs.

  1. Internal assessment of the organization can be conducted from the perspective of the organization’s members, the organization’s board, or the organization’s employees or volunteers.
  2. The organization’s activities can also be assessed externally from the perspective of partners, service clients or purchasers, regional and national networks, or other stakeholders.
  3. The assessment perspective can also focus on, for example, sustainable development, equality and non-discrimination, accessibility and availability, or the organization’s own values.

 

From the self-assessment material, you can selectively extract the assessment points and questions that are relevant to your activities in each situation, or you can implement it as is. The material aims to help identify and document the threats, weaknesses, opportunities, and strengths of the organization’s activities through self-assessment. With the help of observations identified in the activities, operations can be developed and strengthened in the desired direction.
