Green Infrastructure Work
The Varsinais-Suomi green infrastructure work 2023 consists of several interconnected projects. In addition to biodiversity, the green infrastructure work includes a recreation theme and green infrastructure analysis of the urban region, a bioeconomy report, and a current state analysis of the management, development, and maintenance of green infrastructure in the municipalities of the Varsinais-Suomi region.
Biodiversity
The biodiversity section of the Varsinais-Suomi green infrastructure survey provides, based on currently available data, as comprehensive a picture as possible of the occurrence of endangered habitat types in Varsinais-Suomi, as well as recommendations for increasing their protection and restoration.
Current state analysis of the management, development, and maintenance of green infrastructure in the municipalities of the Varsinais-Suomi region
The current state analysis of the management, development, and maintenance of green infrastructure in the municipalities of the Varsinais-Suomi region compiles the municipalities’ operating models, best practices, challenges, and differences in regional operations.
Bioeconomy Report
The bioeconomy report for Varsinais-Suomi has been prepared as part of the Varsinais-Suomi green infrastructure project. The bioeconomy perspective involves the comprehensive development of the theme through program work, including the regional strategy and its implementing programs, as well as the interpretation and application of situational information and the operating environment as part of the region’s comprehensive planning in regional development, advocacy, and land use planning.
