The regions of Southern Finland - Varsinais-Suomi, Uusimaa, Päijät-Häme, Kymenlaakso, and Etelä-Karjala - have initiated intensive advocacy and EU influencing work. The regions have jointly developed a future vision for 2040. The area accounts for over 50% of Finland's GDP and workforce, and nearly half of Finland's population. A prosperous Southern Finland is a guarantee for the success and competitiveness of the entire country. Therefore, joint advocacy is needed on issues that unite the region and the people of Southern Finland.
