In the MAL city region of Turku, an update of the transport system plan has been launched, which defines the guidelines for the development of mobility in the region up to 2050. The work will create a common vision for municipalities on how to make everyday mobility smooth, safe and sustainable in the long term.

The plan looks at the whole mobility picture, including walking, cycling, public transport, car use and transport performance. The aim is to improve accessibility, strengthen the conditions for sustainable modes of transport and support the vitality and climate objectives of the region.

The work will be carried out in cooperation with the municipalities and key stakeholders in the Turku MAL urban area, and is expected to be completed in spring 2027. The plan is being prepared by Destia Oy. The Transport System Plan is being prepared in parallel with the Turku City Region Plan.
