The Varsinais-Suomi parliamentary group has elected Member of Parliament Pauli Aalto-Set\u00e4l\u00e4<\/strong> (National Coalition Party) as its new chairperson. The election took place at the group’s meeting on Wednesday, March 11, when  Saara-Sofia Sir\u00e9n<\/strong> (National Coalition Party), who served as chairperson during the current parliamentary term, stepped down from the position to assume the role of CEO of the Finnish Centre for Pensions (Tela) and leave Parliament.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, the group acknowledged Sir\u00e9n and thanked her for her consistent and constructive work in strengthening advocacy and cooperation for Varsinais-Suomi.<\/p>\n

Continuing as vice-chairpersons are Vilhelm Junnila<\/strong> (Finns Party) and Saku Nikkanen<\/strong> (Social Democratic Party).<\/p>\n

Aalto-Set\u00e4l\u00e4 says he is taking on his new role with great motivation.<\/p>\n

The group serves as a forum for addressing key advocacy themes relevant to the region and ensuring their inclusion in national decision-making across party lines.<\/p>\n
